Hey there! I'm Travis--a graduate researcher based in Northern Nevada--who's work centers on the synthesis of digital science and traditional field archaeology in the Great Basin’s high-desert landscapes.
While I remain committed to "boots in the dirt" documentation of pre-contact sites, like antelope trap complexes, my methodology has evolved to prioritize the intersection of UAV-based photogrammetry and geospatial analysis. By capturing high-resolution drone imagery to generate 3D Structure models, we are able to digitally preserve and analyze the architectural nuances of stone drive lines and corrals with precision.
This approach allows archaeologists to bridge the gap between large scale Geographic Information Systems (GIS) landscape modeling and the physical reality of these fragile communal hunting sites. The goal is to ensure the preservation of our precious histories in a digital format before they are further lost to time and erosion.
Curated artifacts, models, and site scans.
Help us preserve history. Do you have photos of historical places? We can turn your high-resolution image sets into explorable 3D models for the archive.
